Insulinomas - personal experiences

Insulinomas experience by - Pam
Northwood Ohio USA

Our 3yr old male neutered kitty woke up 2 weeks ago unable to use his hind legs. No injury. Took to vet and neurologist. Did MRI of spine, xrays, bloodwork and spinal tap. All negative. Began improving over next week. Last night started having slight head tremors but was not in distress. This morning he had 2 small facial seizures and One full body seizure. Took him to the hospital again. Blood sugar was under 30! He had not lost weight though and was eating. Going to have an abdominal ultrasound tomorrow but diagnosis is rare insulinoma. They have him on dextrose drip and constant food offerings now. Spent over $2,300 on tests that were all negative. Worth it to find out what was going on though.
