Virulent Systemic Feline Calicivirus - personal experiences

Virulent Systemic Feline Calicivirus experience by - Cheryl
Melrose Florida

My cat died of this today, and I had no clue until the tumors came out on the chin and around the eyes, altho she had a place on one foot where the hair was gone and it looked like she had chewed it. I had put neosporin on it regularely and it almost had gone away and then this bunch of tumors appeared rapidly on the chin and around the eyes and she lost weight quickly, wouldnt eat, hid away, and the vet didnt know what it was, hadnt seen it before and said it would take biopsie to figure out how to treat it. I knew my cat, and I knew she was going to die of this . It only was three weeks after the visit to the vet. I waited too long. If you see any symptoms of blood in urine or loss of hair or swollen skin, run to the vet. I might have saved her if I had acted sooner. I was working so much I didnt jump on it fast enough.
