General information on Orchitis
Orchitis is a testicular infection that causes inflammation. This can be caused by a wound to the scrotum that gets infected. Orchitis can also be caused by infections involving the sheath of the penis, bladder and urethra.
Symptoms of Orchitis
Symptoms of Orchitis may include swelling of the testicle and pain. The cat may walk with its back legs spread apart. The testicle can later shrink and become firm.
Treatments for Orchitis
Treatment may include antibiotic therapy, removing of the underlying cause or castration.
